Shōwa 58 [1983]

One of 15 house copies, signed by the artist Kanzaki Onjun 神埼温順 and printed after the distributed edition of 50 copies. Therefore, #58 of 65, inscribed to Imamura Hidetarō.

22 x 16 cm. With 15 tipped-in katazome stencil 型染 printed bookplates. This orihon folding album is illustrated in black and white besides. The bookplates (shohyō 書票) are wonderfully simple and powerful; the book illustrations depict old-fashioned lamps in various forms, a favorite subject of Kanzaki's. Kanzaki Onjun (Sunao) 神﨑温順 (1932 - ) worked in the kappazuri-e (stencil) technique throughout his artistic career and studied under Tabata Kihachi from 1953. In 1990 he had a one-man exhibition in the Takashimaya Dept store in Nihonbashi.

Very good. In the original wrapper with printed title slip.

Price: $425.00
