TOWNSMAN

1938. Item #63482

[PERIODICAL]. TOWNSMAN: A Quarterly Review. Volume One, Number Two (Printed at London, April 1938). Editor: Robert Duncan. Associate: Montgomery Butchart. Illus. 32 pp. 8vo., stiff paper boards, spiral bound at top edge. Wrappers are sunned at perimeters and moderately soiled and stained; mostly clean internally, but with some light dampstaining at the bottom edge of a few leaves. The contributors to this issue include Robert Davidson, Hilaire Hiler, Ronald Duncan, and Ezra Pound. A scarce, early issue of this periodical, whose rebellious spirit was reflected in the size and format of the publication, which changed with almost every issue. Very good. (Hoffman, Allen & Ulrich).
