London: Bernard Quaritch, Piccadilly. 1872. xxiv,36 pp. Purple cloth boards backed in dark brown calf, with gilt title to spine, dark brown coated endpapers. Presentation ticket (George M. Folsom to F. O. French) and bookplate (of French) at front pastedown. Quite clean, but with some occasional light foxing. The t.p. is partially sprung. Leather back is rubbed at heel and crown, and very lightly at joints. Boards are sunned at top-edges and show some random, light spotting. A very good copy of the third edition. Comprised of 101 quatrains; it includes the first appearance of the famous 'Book of Verses' stanza.
