ANDERSON, William. THE PICTORIAL ARTS OF JAPAN. With a Brief Historical Sketch of the Associated Arts, and Some Remarks upon the Pictorial Art of the Chinese and Korean. Each plate has a guard which is printed with a line illustration on one side and descriptive text on the reverse. Text is in five parts, with continuous pagination throughout; each part is separated by a section title which is not included in the pagination: xix,276 pp. Folio. Publisher's binding: pictorial green cloth, expertly rebacked in black morocco, with the original gilt-titled leather spine laid-down. This copy lacks one plate (#40) and the half-title, and has a small amount of light foxing on a couple of pages of the plate list, else fine and fresh.
