By the author of Gil Blas, "Le Diable Boiteux" (The Limping Devil) is a genie released from a bottle, who shows his master life in the houses of Paris seen from the sky, as though through the roofs. First published in France in 1707. Early calf, quite worn, with losses to spine ends and corners; front flyleaf missing, interior well-thumbed, with some pages smudged and dog-eared.
