Small octavo. 236 pp. Publisher's binding; brown cloth, gilt-stamped title to spine and upper board, brown coated endpapers. Slightly darkened on spine, with shallow loss at crown, and very light soiling overall. It is a sound, internally clean, and very good copy. Storer (1830-1922) was a pioneering and influential American gynecologist. He performed the first cesarean-hysterectomy. In addition to practicing medicine, he also taught, lectured, and published. This is the first American book and the first book in English on this subject. (DAB; DAMB).
