1888. Item #84927
JAY, John. AN ADDRESS TO THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW-YORK ON THE SUBJECT OF THE CONSTITUTION, agreed upon at Philadelphia, the 17th of September, 1787. By a Citizen of New York. [One of the series PAMPHLETS ON THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, Published during its Discussion by the People, 1787-1788.] Edited by Paul Leicester Ford. [Brooklyn, NY: Historical Printing Club, 1888]. 20 pp. An octavo-size pamphlet, side-sewn and glued into plain paper wrappers. Fine within but wrappers show some minimal wear and faint dampstaining along fore-edges (which does no affect the text leaves). Very good overall. John Jay was a member of the New York State Convention. This pamphlet was anonymously issued when it first appeared in 1788.
