[19th Century]. photograph - portrait and letter: Phillips Brooks silver gelatin[?] print measures 4" x 5.5". Reverse side of card dates the photograph "Copyrighted 1893 by H G Smith, Boston, MA." and includes studio's logo. photograph is clean and includes second card with a letter by Brooke, a notable Boston preacher dated December 11, 1899. Brooke is perhaps best remembered for composing the lyrics to "O Little Town of Bethlehem." and his service as rector of Boston's Trinity Church.
