[Crepe Paper Book] THE RAT'S PLAINT. Tokyo: Published by T. Hasegawa, 10, Hiyoshi-cho, Meiji 24 . An oblong volume, 15.5 x 18.9 cm, bound with two ribbon ties. pp., including covers. This color woodblock-printed fairy tale out of China, translated by Archibald Little, is one of the scarcer of the Hasegawa productions, particularly this, the first edition of the title, which is usually found as a second edition. Good impressions and colors. The covers are a bit spotted on the back and rubbed on the front with a bit of darkening internally, but still and all a nice copy of an unusual production.
