Minimal wear to cloth and boards. Bottom corner lightly bumped. " First and only edition of an early story by Gissing, written in 1880 and rejected by contemporary periodicals." Includes a later protective green cloth chemise with black leather title label to spine stamped in gilt not issued with the book.(Freeman 63).
