See Mitchell p.517 for a concise explanation of the complex bibliography concerning this work, originally published in 1802 as TATSU NO MIYA TSUKO, complete with haiku verses, here eliminated. [Also see Hillier, vol.1, pp.478-9] There are 30 double page color woodcuts of fish and shellfish. A classic naturalistic work reminiscent of Ryusui's UMI NO SACHI. Our copy is quite well-printed, restored with good colors. Without the mica highlights found in some copies. Important and unusual work. Complete as issued, in a chitsu clasped case.
