Quarter parchment stamped in gilt over green marbled paper boards, t.e.g., edges untrimmed, with green marbled paper covered slipcase; slipcase housed in custom red cloth clamshell case with gilt red leather spine label. Volume and slipcase in very fine condition. The custom clamshell case having protected this copy and slip case; does however have light sunning, slight rubbing to spine label, otherwise it too is fine. Printed in Dante type by Giovanni Mardersteig on the hand-press of the Officina Bodoni in Verona. Paper made by Fratelli Magnani, Pescia. Mardersteig set this edition from the July 1952 ninth Faber and Faber trade edition, which contained an error, and is therefore repeated in this edition: the final 5 lines of Section IV of "Burnt Norton" appear as the first lines of Section V. "An Erratum slip, measuring 8.3 x 12.1 cm., was prepared but not used, in deference to the printer's wishes." Gallup, A43 c.
