The chronological photos begin with shots of a student posting bills before the students attempt to trespass, the clash between students and factory workers, police arrival and arrests and finally, damage to the gate and the empty helmets that remained. The students appear to be well-organized and can be seen wearing white scarves and helmets. A portion of an envelope with the company’s name and address is tipped in on inside back board.
1968-69 marked the height of student riots and protests in Japan, and these photos chronicle one such incident. Backing paper is damp stained but not affecting the photos.
