Table of Contents in English as well as a Foreword in English by Hardy Jowett. 24 hand-painted color illustrations depict informal and formal dress, including military and religious garb, of men and women in China during the Qing Dynasty. Each plate has a paper tissue guard with title and description in English. Handwritten name in ink and pencil on title page. Slight discoloration to a few faces. Staining on silk cover. Bottom forecorner of title page clipped.
