There is a six page preface and a two page introduction, followed by 6 full page color printed genre scenes (the Rokkasen) and then 100 color plates of the canonical poets from history, selected for this work.Engraved by Inoue Shinshichirō A stunning work by one of the great masters of Ukiyo-e.
This copy is an early printing in very nice colors.. Internally very clean.. Has the seal of the important Japanese collector and dealer Hayashi Tadamasa. It then beloned to Jack Brussel and now, Lionel Katzoff. A lovely book and a more than acceptable copy of this important classic of early Japanese color printing. Complete:.
