[EHON] Suzuki Fuyô, artist. GAZU SUIFUYÔ 3 volumes. Edo, Bunka 6 [1809] 26.6 x 18.2 cm, string-bound, Japanese-style, fukuro-toji. Appears identical to the copy at Mitchell 264-5. There is a copy in the British Museum and a handful in Japan. Illustrated throughout in fresh sumi-e impressions of Nanga style interpretations of Chinese art by Fuyô (1749-1816) Interestingly, he was originally a teacher of Tani Bunchô and later became his student. In very good condition, original covers and title labels. De-accessioned from the Brookline Public Library with cover markings but no internal marks. Broken binding threads.
