[DESIGN] Honda Unkindô 本田雲錦堂, publisher. SONO NO KAORI　園の香. Kyoto, Meiji 36 [1903]. Orihon folding album format, 25.3 X 17.9 cm. Decorated paper over boards, integral printed title label. 10 double page color woodcut designs. Honda was the elder brother of Yamada Naosaburô [Unsôdô], who later merged his concern with his brother's. Honda was known for his discerning eye and this anthology is a remarkable epitome of turn of the century Japanese design and the printer's art. Good overall condition, exquisite colors and printing. The paper cover from the back board has been replaced, otherwise complete.
