With folding photo plate, tipped in photograph and map. 35 pp. 4to., dark blue cloth with cover stamped in gilt and white. Minor wear to heel and crown, a few faint scratches to rear board. Interior fine. With large trifold photo reproduction: portrait of the men of Company "F". A silver print photograph is tipped in following the dedication page: a portrait (by Pirie MacDonald, "Photographer-of-Men," New York) of Captain James Regan of the 30th Infantry, with a facsimile signature beneath. The Company was in fact a Training Camp for "Businessmen" who wanted to experience the rigors and discipline of military training; most of them were older than the average soldier. Laid in (and producing offset tanning to endpapers) is a taget card from the Bay State School of Musketry, Boston Small Bore Rifle Range. It is undated, but the shooter hit the center of the target at least five times.
