Satô Nobuhiro, author. Sōmoku Rokubu Kōshuhō 　草木六部耕種法. Izumiya Zenbei. Meiji 7 [1874]. 20 kan in 16 vols. 8 5/8"" x 6"". Original yellow covers and title labels, complete. Many (42pp) woodblock prints, some color printed with considerable skill. A compendium of botanical and agricultural knowledge. Satō himself (a military historian, economist and agronomist) had died in late Edo, and the manuscript of the book at hand appears to have been completed by the late 1820s, but this Meiji 7 edition is said to be its first appearance in print.

In very good condition throughout. A significant addition to any collection of Japanese botany and agriculture.
