This "RECORD OF THINGS HEARD AND SEEN IN NAGASAKI" details a trip to Nagasaki undertaken by Kai, a scholar of Dutch medicine. This book has been described by Boxer as "one of the principal sources of information about Deshima and its occupants at the end of the eighteenth and beginning of the nineteenth century".
