Kawamura Bumpō 河村文鳳 (1779-1821) was known for his landscapes, drawing manuals and ability to work across many genres. His swift lines capture delicate blossoms, a stalk of bamboo and rural landscapes as easily as the fleeting expressions on the faces of his figures and animals.
Chipping, soiling and staining to wrappers with a corner cut off the bottom right of the title slip. Some pages are split. Lower edges are dirt soiled; dampstain in margins of last few pages. Small numbered seal on front wrapper and 9.0 x 14cm slip with title and details typewritten in English tipped in. A nice, early impression. From the Geoff Burton Collection.
